Trad Climbing involves more commitment and skill. Placing gear to protect against falls is probably the most crucial time to seek expert tuition.

The aim is to develop the skills required to lead routes that require traditional protection. Our excellent video describes placing protection in an easy to follow format. Scroll down to watch it.

The course covers:

• Trad climbing equipment
• belaying on trad routes
• Placing leader protection
• understanding the risks
• Setting up belays
• some understanding of abseils
• and lots of climbing
